Founding & Family

Precision Builders was founded on January 1, 1974 by Gordon Enger. Since then, Precision Builders has built eight subdivisions and constructed over 1,000 individual homes. Precision Builders has built homes in Knox, Loudon, Blount, Anderson, and Campbell Counties.

Gordon’s younger son, Eric, joined the family business in 1991 and worked as the daily on-site supervisor of all subcontractors until the unfortunate passing of Gordon in 2015. At that time Eric became president of the company. Eric has continued to run Precision Builders with the same integrity that he learned from his dad and today you will experience the same quality and care that was so important to Gordon, making for a smooth building process.

Gordon’s older son, Doug, began his career with Precision Builders in 1988 and served in various capacities for 12 years before moving on to other opportunities. Doug rejoined Precision in 2014 and now serves as Vice President and oversees the remodeling division. Doug has been in the building business full time since 1988 and has the experience and knowledge needed to make your renovation project a success.
